We’re putting down roots in Waterfoot 🌿

Something rather lovely is coming to Waterfoot.

Right now, behind the doors of our little shop, there’s a fair amount of painting, cleaning, fixing, planning, measuring, moving things around and asking “do you think that table will fit there?”

But on 14th November 2026, those doors will officially open as Rooted, a new creative community space right here in Waterfoot.

And we genuinely cannot wait to welcome you in.

So, what exactly is Rooted?

Imagine a place where there’s always a seat at the table for you.

Somewhere you can step out of normal life for a couple of hours, make something ridiculously lovely, have a brew, learn something new and spend some time with actual humans.

You can come with friends. Come with your mum. Bring your partner. Or simply turn up on your own.

You don’t need to be artistic. You don't need to know anybody. And you definitely don't need to be “good” at whatever we're making that day.

Rooted is about the doing, not being perfect.

It’s a place to create, connect and belong.

More than 10 years of making and bringing people together

Rooted might be a new name and a new home, but we're certainly not starting from scratch.

For more than a decade, creativity, flowers, nature and bringing people together have been a huge part of what we do.

More recently, through Nurturefy CIC, we've seen first-hand just how powerful something as simple as sitting around a table and making something together can be.

We've watched people arrive nervous and unsure and leave laughing with somebody they hadn't met two hours earlier.

We've seen people discover they're far more creative than they thought.

And we've seen how much people sometimes just need a reason to get out of the house and be around other people.

Rooted is about creating a permanent home for more of that.

What will happen at Rooted?

Lots. 😂

We'll be running creative workshops throughout the week, with everything from flowers and seasonal makes to clay, nature-inspired projects and things we probably haven't even thought of yet.

But we don't want Rooted to only be about the things we can teach.

Over time, we'll be inviting local artists, makers and creatives to bring their skills to the table too. We'd love Rooted to become somewhere people can discover different kinds of creativity, and somewhere talented local people have a space to share what they do.

We'll also work alongside community organisations, charities, social prescribers and other local services so that Rooted can be used to bring people together, reduce isolation and create opportunities for people who might otherwise struggle to access them.

And because Rooted is part of Nurturefy CIC, community benefit isn't an add-on to what we're doing. It's built into it.

Alongside our standard workshop places, we're developing ways of offering reduced-cost and funded places so that money doesn't automatically mean someone has to miss out.

Because belonging shouldn't depend on your bank balance.

If you've walked past recently, you'll know the shop isn't looking quite like the Rooted we've been imagining. 😂

That's changing.

Over the next few weeks we'll be sharing the transformation as we paint, repair, clean, build, decorate and turn the space into somewhere warm, creative and welcoming.

There will be a big communal table at the heart of it.

Twelve chairs.

Twelve places to make things, talk, laugh, learn, occasionally make an absolute mess and hopefully leave feeling a little brighter than when you arrived.

And there will always be a seat at the table for you.

Come and meet us on 14th November

We're opening the doors on Saturday 14th November 2026, and we'd love Waterfoot to come and have a nosey.

We're planning a relaxed little opening event where local residents can come in, see the new space, meet us and find out what we've got planned.

We'd particularly love to meet local community groups, charities, artists, makers, schools, social prescribers and organisations working across Waterfoot and Rossendale.

You don't need a formal invitation.
